2nd Annual Favorite Things Giveaway and Blog Hop

Welcome to our 2nd Annual Favorite things giveaway and blog hop!
I had so much fun last year telling you about some of my favorite things and I can't wait to tell you a few new ones now.
Grab you something cool to drink, pull up a comfy seat and enjoy some of our favorite school things.

Today we are throwing  a big, humongous bash to celebrate YOU!
Last year we blogged about our favorite non-school related things, this year we have decided that we will share with you our favorite school things! So here we go:

My favorite app right now is this great reading program called Speakaboos.
I have it downloaded to all my Ipads for my first graders to use.
They love it!
There are over 150 different stories for them to choose from.
Most stories have 3 reading options:  Read to me, Read and play, Read it myself  this makes it so easy for my students to read or listen to great engaging stories without me having to be right there the whole time.

I want to share how I organize my math centers.
I have 10 math centers in this colorful rolling cart.

There is one center in each numbered draw.
I make sure that everything the students need to complete that center is in the draw.
This draw has an ordinal matching center game, recording sheets, pencils and crayons.
Students just take the draw and get to work.
On top of the cart I have a green basket I got from the dollar store.
Students know that they turn in their papers here.
Each day I can collect all the center work and check to make sure they are understanding and completing the centers.
All this just helps me stay on top of my math centers and lets the kids be more independent learners.

Every Christmas I make homemade Peanut Brittle.
It's really not very hard to make and my family and friends love it.
The only hard part is making sure you watch it and don't walk away.
Trust me I've burnt it enough time to learn my lesson.
Here is my recipe.

Once again we want to treat you all to our favorite things!!! Check out these great prizes!

December Pick 3 Pinterest Linky

Have you checked out all the great ideas on Pinterest for December?
There are thousands of great pins to look at and it can get overwhelming.
So I'm linking up with PAWSitively Teaching, Just Reed, and Inspired Owl's Corner to help make it a little less overwhelming.

This year I am going to have a Polar Express Day.
I know a lot of teachers do this and I did in the past but it's been awhile.
These will be a cute treat to have for the kids as they watch the movie.

I love taking pictures of my first graders.
I can see these being a cute handmade ornament to give to parents for Christmas.
What parent doesn't love handmade ornaments and their child's picture!?!

Have you ever watched Santa's Reindeer Cam?
I love it and so does the kids!
The reindeer are on display walking around all day and then at special times Santa comes out and feeds them.  He also reads some of his mail.  It's super cute and I have it on during different parts of the day.
