2nd Annual Favorite Things Giveaway and Blog Hop

Welcome to our 2nd Annual Favorite things giveaway and blog hop!
I had so much fun last year telling you about some of my favorite things and I can't wait to tell you a few new ones now.
Grab you something cool to drink, pull up a comfy seat and enjoy some of our favorite school things.

Favorite Things Graphic

Today we are throwing  a big, humongous bash to celebrate YOU!
Last year we blogged about our favorite non-school related things, this year we have decided that we will share with you our favorite school things! So here we go:

My favorite app right now is this great reading program called Speakaboos.
I have it downloaded to all my Ipads for my first graders to use.
They love it!
There are over 150 different stories for them to choose from.
Most stories have 3 reading options:  Read to me, Read and play, Read it myself  this makes it so easy for my students to read or listen to great engaging stories without me having to be right there the whole time.

I want to share how I organize my math centers.
I have 10 math centers in this colorful rolling cart.

There is one center in each numbered draw.
I make sure that everything the students need to complete that center is in the draw.
This draw has an ordinal matching center game, recording sheets, pencils and crayons.
Students just take the draw and get to work.
On top of the cart I have a green basket I got from the dollar store.
Students know that they turn in their papers here.
Each day I can collect all the center work and check to make sure they are understanding and completing the centers.
All this just helps me stay on top of my math centers and lets the kids be more independent learners.

Every Christmas I make homemade Peanut Brittle.
It's really not very hard to make and my family and friends love it.
The only hard part is making sure you watch it and don't walk away.
Trust me I've burnt it enough time to learn my lesson.
Here is my recipe.

Once again we want to treat you all to our favorite things!!! Check out these great prizes!

December Pick 3 Pinterest Linky

Have you checked out all the great ideas on Pinterest for December?
There are thousands of great pins to look at and it can get overwhelming.
So I'm linking up with PAWSitively Teaching, Just Reed, and Inspired Owl's Corner to help make it a little less overwhelming.

This year I am going to have a Polar Express Day.
I know a lot of teachers do this and I did in the past but it's been awhile.
These will be a cute treat to have for the kids as they watch the movie.

I love taking pictures of my first graders.
I can see these being a cute handmade ornament to give to parents for Christmas.
What parent doesn't love handmade ornaments and their child's picture!?!

Have you ever watched Santa's Reindeer Cam?
I love it and so does the kids!
The reindeer are on display walking around all day and then at special times Santa comes out and feeds them.  He also reads some of his mail.  It's super cute and I have it on during different parts of the day.

Grade 1 Phonics Simple Centers {ALL Year} Bundled set

These phonics centers come in handy in a jiffy.
Now that I have them all printed and ready I can just grab the skill I need and set it out.
Each center game follows the same directions so after teaching them the first time I'm good to go from then on.  Only the skill changes not the directions.

Color By Sight Word {coloring pages} Fry's first 100 words

I use these Color by Sight Word pages as fillers, early finishers, and morning work.
The kids enjoy them and they make life easy for me:)

Completely Editable Behavior Calendars

These calendars really help me keep parents in the loop with their child's behavior.
The children also enjoy coloring in their color each day.

Happy Shopping:)

November Pick 3 Pinterest Party

Wowwie wow wow did October fly by as fast for you as it did for me?
I have a strong feeling November is going to be the same story and then Christmas will be here.
I'm not ready!
But before all that happens I am happy to link up with me sweet friends for their AMAZING pinterest party.

What kid wouldn't want their very own quill to write with during the season!?!
These are too easy and cute not to do with my first graders.

I love the simplicity of this activity.
I've actually did this before several years ago and the kids really enjoyed it.

I've did something similar to this in the past but this is super cute.
Easy too!

Have you noticed I went with 3 easy, not a lot of prep, cute ideas?
True story, I'm too busy to pretend I'm going to do something that take a lot of time.
This year has been a struggle so the easier it is the better chance of me using it.

I do have several other cute ideas pinned so buzz on over to my Pinterest feed to check them out:)

Next the design really intrigued them to try it out.

Then as a teacher I LOVE that it sharpens those cheap special pencils.
The Busy Busy Hive

You know the ones!
The ones that come from the Dollar Store and NEVER sharpen.
Well that isn't the case with this sharpener.
Great sharp point every time!

Currently October

October is one of my favorite months!
My oldest daughter's birthday is on the 16th and Halloween.
My niece and my brother also have birthday's in October so we do a bit of partying:)
I'm linking up with Farley for her currently linky.

My hubby is cutting grass and I love the smell.
He won't be doing that much longer as the days get cooler.

Conferences were on Thursday of last week and I'm so glad they are over.
They weren't bad just something that gets me so nervous each time they come around.

I started decorating my classroom for Halloween but I still have a bit to do.
I haven't even started decorating the house.

I started the Advocare 24 day challenge today!!!
I am really going to stick with the program and I can't wait to see what a difference it makes on my physical and mental well-being.

I really need more sleep!
I tend to stay up really late so I can read books that I want to read.
I also get up really early to go to the gym before my hubby goes to work.
So I don't get much sleep.
I need to go to bed earlier but I don't want too!

Having all 3 of our kids and my hubby and me in the same room together is boo-tiful to me!
We don't all tend to be together much.
My oldest is usually out with friends so it's a real treat when we are all to ether.

Thanks for buzzing by!

Teacher/Blogger T-shirts

I live in jeans and t-shirts when I'm not at school.
So when I saw other bloggers showing off their cool blogger shirts, I knew I had to get me one.
A+ Images did a fantastic job of creating my custom blogger shirt.
Look how cute it is!

I wore it to school and my first graders loved it!
They kept complimenting me on it.

I was able to choose what color shirt I wanted and there were lots to choose from.
It was kind of hard.
I had a few colors picked out but went with this beautiful blue.
It made my blog logo stand out, which is what I was wanting.

The shirt itself is great!
It washed and held it shape, which is always a good thing.
It's comfortable and looks great too.

A+ Images has lots of t-shirts.
If you find yourself looking for a t-shirt for field trips. field day, or just one for your class grade, I highly recommend this company.

Here are a few I have on my wishlist:

Super easy to order and fast shipping.
