Target Dollar Deals

I went shopping the other day with my oldest daughter and I just had to look at the $1 spot at Target.  I am so glad that I did!  I found a Teacher Plan Book and Grade Book.  They are too cute for a dollar.  They also had file holders in different colors.  I bought 4 different colors for groups to keep journals in so far, but I think I might go back and get a few more for centers and book boxes for the students.  I found some workbooks that I plan on using for journal ideas that have a journal ideas with a place to draw and write about the topic and a united states workbook that has an intro to each state and a fun fact to help when we learn about the USA.  The class signs that I got had one that said Eyes On Me and QUIET, please!  These will be cute during whole group activities.  I found alphabet stamps that I plan on using in my making words center.  Target also had these small 7 pocket file for note cards but I think I might store stickers for the students to use in the writing center.  Our Target had a lot circus theme items and even though I have a bee theme in my room they had these adorable inflatable bugs that were bees.  I couldn't believe it so of course I had to get the last 2 they had.  I can't wait to add them to my room.  I'll have to add pictures of my room once I get it set up.

My First Blog Post Ever!

I am new to all this blogging, but I'm ready to give it a try.  I am a first grade teacher and I love it.  Each year I am excited about my new class and new ideas that I have seen and can't wait to try out in my own room.  I am looking forward to keeping this blog as a journal of my classroom activities this year.
