Teacher Toolbox Make Over

Let's talk about the teacher toolbox.
For the last couple of years I've had a teacher toolbox in my classroom.  Once I had gotten rid of my teacher desk it was a no brainier that I needed something to house all my teacher things.  I had seen several teachers making them and of course I had to jump on the bandwagon and make one too.  At the time (and still today)  there were a couple of different toolboxes to choose from.  I made the decision to get the 22 drawer stack-able toolbox that I found at Lowe's.

It is currently not available on-line but you might be able to still grab one at your local Lowes store.  When I picked mine up it was around $20 at that time.

The next step in my toolbox make over was to purchase spray paint to make my toolbox match my classroom color scheme.  I purchased Rust-Oleum high gloss spray paint.
I fell in love with this color, St. Tropez.  This paint has really lived up to my expectations.  The color is exactly like the cap and it covered my plastic toolbox wonderfully!  I did give my toolbox 2 coats of paint to make sure that I hadn't missed any spots (I'm not the best spray painter).

Look how pretty it is and I wasn't even finished yet!

My next step was to find some pretty labels that fit the drawers and would help me stay organized while putting the finishing touch on my toolbox.
So, I created some labels that matched my new alphabet and other classroom decor.

My last step was to print the labels I wanted and put them on my toolbox.  I hot glued my labels on the front of each of my drawers.  I'm so happy with how they turned out.

My new and improved teacher toolbox!
There you have it!  It didn't take that long to do once the paint was dry then it was smooth sailing.  Do you have a teacher toolbox?
Has it been helpful for you?
I'd love to know what you think about them!
