Currently- January 2015

As the end of 2014 comes to a close I'm looking forward to 2015.
I can't think of a better way to do this than to join Farley's Currently Linky

My 2 youngest kids are chasing 3 of our dogs up and down the hallway.  It's noisy and I LOVE it!!
Right now I'm loving that my kitchen in clean.  I spent all day washing walls today and cleaning the floor.

I KNOW this new year is going to be AMAZING because I refuse to let it be anything else.  I'm determined to set goals and reach them.  This is going to be my year!

I ordered new ink toner for my laser printer and I know it is here in Louisville but it's not at my house yet.  I have lots to print out and get ready for next week.  I WANT it NOW:(

Since my kitchen is all clean I really need to repaint the walls so they look fresh and paint the cabinets.  Everything is staying the same color but they really need a sprucing up.

Yes I am going to stick to a healthy meal plan this year.  I have the gym part down but the eating healthy just isn't as easy.

Maybe tomorrow I'll find some motivation to create some more stuff for my classroom and TpT.  I had so much planned but then my mom got sick and then my kids and then me.  Needless to say I have not been  in a creative mode in awhile.

I really wish I would step out of my comfort zone.  Several teachers at my school want to learn how to turn their ideas into TpT creations.  I brag about it all the time but teaching someone else is a little bit scary.  I also know these teachers are very supportive and would be fine if I made a mistake or wasn't perfect.  So I think I'm going to try and put something together to help them and me:)

Hope you all have a Happy and Safe New Year!!

Favorite Things Blog Hop

My favorite beauty item is anything from Este Lauder!
I'm so lucky that my nephew's wife is a manager at Este Lauder.
She is always letting me in on all the new sales and deals.
Here is a picture of my newest deals!!

Let's talk about The Tree.
The first year we lived in our house we went out and cut down our tree.
I still remember how ugly I thought that tree was.
I may have yes I cried over it.
And my mom kept telling me to just decorate it and go on.
Christmas isn't about the tree.
So we decorated it and went on with it.
I found a picture of that tree several years later and realized that the tree didn't look nearly as bad as I thought it did at the time.
We had a wonderful Christmas with each other thankful to be in our house.
Now 10 years later we have had real and fake trees but these last several years we have gone with a real tree again.
I love the smell, the look, and the feeling I get when it's decorated and in our living room.
We just got our tree this year and we will be decorating it later today:)

I LOVE Mexican food!
When we decide to go out to eat (which we don't do often) we go here.
I have never gotten anything that I didn't like.
The owner knows us now and comes to talk and joke with us.
The kids sing karaoke.
And we always have a great time.
Do you have a La Carreta near you?

My giveaway item is a $20 gift card to Bath and Body works!
It's part of Giveaway Pack #4!
My all time favorite sent is Japanese Cherry Blossom.
I have tried lots of other ones and I love them but this is my go to sent every time.
What is your favorite?
I might need to try it too:)

Holidays Around The Blog

This morning I woke up to my littlest child yelling that it had snowed last night.
He was so excited and wanted to go out and play in it.
So I got up (after the 20th time of him waking me up) and went to see this snow.
It turned out that it was frost but it didn't' deter him.
He still wanted to play in it:)
After getting all dressed up warm, he and his sister raced outside to make frost angels.
It wasn't long before they were back inside and watching TV.

With the weather changing it brings on the feelings and cravings for all things Holiday related.
And I'm excited to share some of the things I do with my little class each year.

Thanks so much Amy and Julie for all the hard work you both put  into this linky!!

Every year I put out my Christmas books and put up my little Christmas tree.  My kiddos love walking in and seeing these things.  This year I have decided to get a REAL tree and decorate it in my classroom.  I can't wait for it to make my room smell like Christmas.

We always make time to make and decorate Gingerbread houses after learning about Germany.
I show different types of gingerbread houses and we read several gingerbread stories too.
The kids bring in some kind of treat to use as decorations for our houses.
Each child has their own icing and milk carton to use as the base for our goodies.
I put everything out for them to use and them let them loose.
I love seeing their creativity come out in their designs.

Center time is "Snow" much fun!
I use my winter centers during this season too.
I used these last year and my kids had so much fun.
They especially enjoyed the Literacy winter centers.
I also have a Winter math centers set too.

I enjoy giving my kids presents for Christmas.
What little kid doesn't like presents?!?!
Most like to color so I always bind up my Christmas color by Sight word book  and let them pick out a scholastic book to order and give to them.
My coloring book has 2 different covers: one is Merry Christmas from your teacher and the other is Happy Holidays from your teacher.
The color pages inside do have Christmas and Holiday theme pages so many may not be able to use them with their class.
This has prompted me to make a Winter coloring book for those that are not allowed to have Christmas and Santa theme things.
Keep an eye out for it soon!!

Now it's your turn to link up and let us know how you celebrate the holidays in your classroom.
Do you have an elf on the shelf?
Do you make gingerbread houses?
What about gifts? Are they allowed in your school?
Link up and tell us all about it.

Don't forget to enter to win our giveaway!!!
I know I could use the extra bucks.
What would you spend it on?

Five for Friday: Fun Week!!

Hip Hip Hooray It's Friday!!
I have been a bad blogger here lately but life
just has it's way of not going according to plan (or at least my plan).
I'm still trying to get everything in balance that works for me.
Pretty sure I'll still be working on that balance at the end of the year.
So with that said...
Let's Get This Party Started!!

On Wednesday the Kindergarten and First Grade classes went to the farm.
We learned about Johnny Appleseed, picked apples and a pumpkin.
I was very lucky because I got to spend the day with my little guy.
He was so excited to pick the perfect pumpkin.
We had to look at every one of them before he settled on one:)

Thursday was the Great American Shake Out.
We practiced an earthquake drill and my cuties were so good.
I was very impressed with how well they did during it.

Today we broke out the glue sponges and worked on a Halloween craft.
They did an awesome job using the sponges and the craft turned out so cute.
I can't wait to put them up so they will be on display during Open House.

I just started a new business adventure!!!
I am now an Independent Jamberry Nail Consultant.
If you're looking into wanting to try these babies out, let me know.
I'd love to send you a free sample, host a party for ya or sell you some of these
awesome wraps;)

You will definitely want to check back in on Tuesday to see all the great sales going on.
A wonderful group of teacher bloggers have gotten together to offer up
special sales on Tuesday only in October.
You don't want to miss these!
So mark your calendar
